Do I Qualify?

Qualification for our program requires the following:

• Live in Skagit County for a minimum of one year. NOTE: request a consideration if living outside of Skagit County.
• First time home buyer. Applicant must not have owned a home during the previous 3 years in order to receive federal funds, excluding those who meet the following exceptions:
  • A displaced homemaker who owned a home with his or her spouse or resided in a home owned by the spouse
  • A single parent who owned a home with his or her spouse or resided in a home owned by the spouse
• Earn an income up to 80 percent of the area median income (Skagit County Area Median) Buyer will be responsible for $1,000-$2,500 towards closing costs (out-of-pocket)
• Schedule an in-person program introductory meeting with Home Trust staff
• Attend an homebuyer education class & provide proof
• Qualify for a mortgage at any qualified lender
• Complete an application
